Daniel Marcus Clark is a British songwriter and sonic storyteller. During a period when everything shifted at once, he wrote 242 songs in 181 days; twelve became 181, out 26 June 2026. His work began with The Hat -  narrative rambling compositions, signed to Sunday Best — and evolved through EarFilms, blindfolded 3D-sound stories that toured the world - selling out wherever it went, from Brighton Festival to Melbourne Recital Centre and residencies at Stanford University and the Skywalker Ranch. He's directed audio for the Met Museum New York's exhibitions, and written with Nick Mulvey and Lou Rhodes ( including guitar on her Mercury-nominated record) . 181 is lean, human, and present: songs captured fast so the truth couldn't hide.

I wrote 242 songs in 181 days — an experiment that started as a way through a period when everything shifted at once: jobs, homes, the ground under my feet. Twelve kept their pulse. We recorded them fast — some live with old friends, some straight to a 1960s reel-to-reel so the edges stayed honest.
